Starting at Port Douglas we aim to travel south, exploring the various island clusters between here and Townsville. Towards the end of Summer we plan to backtrack and travell northwards...
...Left Fitzroy Island around 9am heading for the Frankland Islands located just south of Cairns.

Once again the seas were calm and we estimated it would take 4 hours to get there.

The water temperature was 33 degrees and there were patches of algae coveriing the surface which smelt rank. We also saw massive jelly fish along the way with schools of fish living in them.

Speaking of schools, I thought we could ease ourselves into the thought of school starting next week ans so the boys started their journal writing. It passed the time and before we knew it we were pulling into Russell Island in the Frankland group which offered 3 National Park moorings to use. There was no-one else there and so we had the pick....
